Leave Him!
Olivia was standing outside Edward's room, wondering if she should go inside and get permission from him to go and get some dresses. It had been a long time since she went outside so she wanted to.
She wondered if she should take the risk and talk to him until she got the chance to go outside later in the future.
She was just in her thoughts when suddenly she heard a voice coming from inside the room.
"Who is that? Is someone else in the room too?"
She grew curious and looked closer at the door when she heard a girl's voice coming from inside, "Who is she?"
She slightly opened the door and quietly peeked inside when she saw Edward, her husband and also the Alpha king sitting on a sofa with his foot resting on the table in the front and the laptop placed on his lap, and just beside him, a lady sat beside him and clung to him like a tile on wet cement.
Olivia was stunned. She knew the Alpha king never cared for her and there were always girls clinging to him. But this was her first time seeing a girl that was close to him. For some reason, she didn't expect to see it proven to her so vividly. It was aggravating.
"Is she his…… lover?" Some unshed tears appeared in her eyes as she asked that from no one in particular.
She felt a tight knot in her chest.
From the first week, she stepped into that palace, she had done everything in her power to please the Alpha-King. Even though she was sold to him by her parents. She never wanted to come there but soon she accepted her fate and tried her best to please the alpha king.
She tried to cook for him, tried to help with his stuff, tried to help with his work, not like she could though but still, she tried. She even tried opening up to him to seem more friendly and approachable, but not once had he ever accepted her goodwill gestures. He always turned her down in the cruelest way possible, no surprise there.
Nevertheless, after all that, she felt that at least she'd made an impression on him, no matter how small it was. Enough to make him respect and treat her accordingly with consideration for her feelings, so she waited.
"You've been working on that thing all day, you don't even have time for me anymore," The lady clinging onto him made a pout as she said.
"My work comes before anything and everything.” Edward coldly replied but his voice didn't reach Olivia. He had that bored look on his face like he didn't really care about that girl but like jealousy wasn't letting Olivia see that/
She couldn't hear either say anything, just the movement of their lips showed her that they were probably talking about something.
"Come on, please. Even if it's just five minutes. Please," She begged.
"I'll consider it once I'm done," Edward replied without taking his eyes off the laptop.
Olivia, on the other hand, was looking at everything, she was hoping that eventually, Edward would grow impatient and tired of the lady's clinginess and shove her off him but nothing like that was happening instead the girl's hands shamelessly started wandering around on his body now.
The girl got up from the sofa and tried coming near his face. She was bent down towards his face. Her hair covered his face making it impossible for Olivia to see what they were doing.
“Are they…. Are they kissing?” She tried controlling the hiccup which was about to leave her mouth.
Just when all hope seemed like it was lost and the lady wouldn't be sent flying, she lost her balance and was about to fall off his lap. It wasn't how Olivia expected things to go but she'd accept the satisfying outcome either way. But all signs of satisfaction at once disappeared when the Alpha caught the lady just as she was about to hit the ground.
He left his work that he was always so focused on and paid enough attention to the lady to even save her from getting the bump on her head that she so deserved, something he had never done for Olivia despite everything she had done for him.
"Thank you. You are so sweet." The girl chimed with happiness.
For a second Olivia thought everyone was able to hear the painful, loud, and uncomfortable sound of her heart breaking, but when the Alpha lifted the lady and placed her back on his lap, she realized that she was the only one able to hear it, and even more sorrowful, she was the only one able to feel it.
She quietly moved away from the door and rushed back to the room.
Once she reached it, she banged the door shut and leaned on it while trying her best not to cry, because why would she cry? She never even loved him in the first place.
"He never loved me. I was a fool to try to make him happy. I was just some tool that was sold to him so I could bear him a male child. There was no love, no friendship, no affinity whatsoever. I was only a tool that was meant to do as her master said." Olivia cried aloud as hard as she could as she let those words out.
Olivia just didn't want to accept the fact that she saw him with some other girl just now. After touching her he was touching her too.
He might be the cruelest or the most powerful and wealthiest Alpha there ever was, but it didn't give him the right to treat her the way he did.
"I hate you.”
She deserved better and she knew it.
"I won't stay here anymore….
